The Third International fib Congress incorporating the PCI Annual Convention and Bridge Conference
This incredible event combined three majors under one roof. Held in Washington D.C., United States, May 29-June 2, 2010
The International fib Congress
The International fib Congress and Exhibition is a unique concrete industry event, held once every four years, and in a different member country each time. It was last held in 2006 in Naples, Italy, and before that in 2002 in Osaka, Japan. The Congress is fib’s flagship event. Unlike its Symposia, which take place during non-Congress years and focus on specific themes, Congresses encompass all aspects of structural concrete, bringing together practitioners, experts and stakeholders from all over the world to share information, knowledge and experience.

Congresses bring in hundreds of peer-reviewed, technical papers, which provide for a great exchange of knowledge and ideas. Also, fib confers its highest award, the Freyssinet Medal, on one or two individuals for their outstanding technical contributions to structural concrete, and presents its prestigious Awards for Outstanding Concrete Structures.

PCI Convention and Exhibition
The PCI Convention and Exhibition is the premier event in North America for the design, fabrication, and construction of precast/prestressed concrete structures. Typically, attendees may participate in more than 60 educational sessions and 80 committee meetings and network with other industry stakeholders, while helping to shape the future of the precast concrete industry. The trade show features more than 100 exhibitors in about 75,000 ft2 of exhibition space. The exhibition showcases the latest technology, services, and products to improve your business and stay at the leading edge. We look forward to seeing you at the next PCI Convention and Exhibition.

The PCI-Federal Highway Administration National Bridge Conference
The National Bridge Conference (NBC) is cosponsored by PCI and the Federal Highway Administration. It is the premier national venue for the exchange of ideas and state-of-the-art information on concrete bridge design, fabrication, and construction -- particularly for precast, prestressed concrete bridges.
The NBC is held in conjunction with the annual PCI Convention and Exhibition. Concrete continues to grow as the material of choice for U.S. bridges. Each year, concrete commands more than 70% of all highway bridges built. Based on deck area, prestressed concrete bridges alone account for 60% of new bridges built. The continued interest in high-performance concrete and the growing excitement about methods for accelerated bridge construction promise to fuel this growth even more. Public agencies and industry have joined forces and are committed to bringing together the nation’s expert practitioners in this exceptional educational forum.

About fib
The International Federation for Structural Concrete (fédération internationale du béton or fib) is headquartered in Lausanne, Switzerland. It was created in 1998 from the merger of the Euro-International Concrete Committee (CEB - Comité Euro-international du Béton) and the International Federation for Prestressing (FIP - Fédération Internationale de la Précontrainte). It is a not-for-profit association committed to the advancement of the technical, economic, aesthetic and environmental performance of concrete construction worldwide.

fib plays an essential role in stimulating research and promoting the use and development of concrete. Dissemination of information is a major aspect of fib’s work; this is accomplished through a number of channels including technical publications, a quarterly journal, symposia and congresses, short courses and awards.

fib has approximately 1000 members in 60 countries, including 40 National Member Groups and about 900 individual or corporate members.
